Mission Statement
Archway Programs’ A.C.T. Program is committed to providing adults with severe and persistent mental illness (SPMI) a partial care program that enables them to maximize their potential as uniquely special men and women.  A.C.T. services are designed to support recovery/stabilization, enhance quality of life, reduce psychiatric symptoms, restore and/or improve functioning, and support consumers’ integration into the community to as great a degree as possible.  A.C.T. is fully licensed and approved by both Medicaid and NJDMHS.

Philosophy

The A.C.T. Program is a goal-oriented milieu.  On a daily basis, consumers’ goals are addressed in a variety of ways.  Additionally, achieved goals (and advanced progress as appropriate) are rewarded.  Some rewards may be universal while others are consumer-specific.  Although emphasis is placed on striving for and achieving goals, care is taken to encourage, rather than de-motivate consumers who are having difficulty achieving goals.  Punishments are never a part of consumers’ individual recovery plans, and sanctions are not imposed for slow progress.  However, if a consumer seems to be making no progress towards his/her goals, an individual recovery team meeting will be held to assess goal relevance and appropriateness.

Eligibility/Referrals

ACT accepts referrals from any source. The intake staff regularly interacts with referring families, boarding homes, hospitals such as Camden County H.S.C. and Ancora, and other service providers. All referrals and intake appointments can be made through the Intake Coordinator, Ellen Thomas 856-767-5757x 373
In order to be eligible, consumers must have an appropriate Axis I diagnosis, be at least 18 years old, and demonstrate clinical evidence justifying the necessity for Partial Care which has been confirmed by the treating Doctor, APN and the treating team. The program provides transportation to Camden County and parts of Gloucester County.  Partial care services are paid for, when medically indicated, by Medicaid

Reasons for denial:

  • Primary diagnosis of substance use/dependence
  • Current danger to self, others or property
  • A primary diagnosis of “developmentally disabled”
  • Current participation in a PACT program.
