AADP Celebrates its 1st Annual Friends and Family Summer Bash

Advanced Abilities Day Program Celebrates its 1st Anniversary.

After rainy skies caused a one-day delay, staff members and participants from the Archway Advanced Abilities Day Program opened their doors to the community. On July 25th, a sunny Thursday afternoon, AADP celebrated its first anniversary with friends and family, music, and great food!

The AADP staff served baked macaroni and cheese, chilled salads, baked beans, and other tasty side dishes alongside grilled hot dogs and hamburgers. Everyone gathered around the picnic tables to enjoy music and delicious food; for a sweet ending, they enjoyed fresh fruit, cupcakes, and soft pretzels.

Enthusiastic potential participants, accompanied by their families and guardians, eagerly explored the grounds and took building tours. They were excited to learn about the program’s diverse services, including day trips, work-study, volunteer work, and more. Many guests expressed their desire to join the program shortly; staff were on hand to guide them through the enrollment process.

Shawn Gibson, Archway’s Executive Vice President/COO, attended the festivities and greeted the staff, families, and participants, expressing pride and gratitude for the success of Archway’s latest service program.
