Our most recent Employee Spotlight goes to Ms. Brittany Byrd, Program Coordinator of Curriculum of Just Kids. Ms. Byrd has been part of the Archway family for 17 years and has held several different positions throughout this time. She has a Masters of Science in Elementary Education and Teaching from Rowan University and has taught in the public schools as a 3rd and 4th grade teacher for two years. What everyone might now know, is that Brittany is a gifted musician and vocalist who loves to write and perform. She even wrote a song that Just Kids students performed.
In addition to her role at Archway Programs, she is an Adjunct Professor in the Music Department at Rowan University. She started out as an Assistant Trainee as a high school student in Just Kids. Overtime, she became a supervisor at two of our largest programs, the last location being at John Glenn School in Pine Hill. She has always combined her passion for children, music and education at Just Kids. One of the traditions she started at Just Kids’ John Glenn was a student-led annual talent show.
In Brittany’s current position as the Program Coordinator of Curriculum and Programs, she oversees the design and implementation of our enrichment curriculum. This utilizes her experience as an educator as well as her childcare experience to find engaging activities that encourage students to learn and grow. She also works with the District Managers to coach and teach childcare staff on how to implement curriculum and program management techniques.
Brittany Byrd is a perfect example of an employee who is a dedicated team player and someone you can count on. Her co-workers have described her as a burst of positive energy that is always ready to pitch in help. Congratulations Brittany! We are proud that you are part of the Archway family. Thank you for everything that you do for Just Kids!
